Rare RPPC Indian Motocycle Postcard

$370.00

Weighs approx: 6.5oz. Measures approx: 6 ¼ “ x 8 1/2” (outer dimensions of frame). Here’s what I know in regards to this postcard: The paper was made by the Azo Co., w/ 4-upright triangles on back, this puts it to 1904-1918. The back is ‘divided’ putting it to post 1907. The motorcycle itself is a IOE 500cc single cylinder Model E11RC, putting it to circa 1915. The driver is holding a ‘Providence” pennant, of which I believe it to be in reference to Providence College, of Rhode Island. That college was started in 1917. So, with all of that info, we can firmly place the date of this postcard to 1917-1918! Image is bit blurry, this is what is referred to as a RPPC postcard, making it more desirable and hence, collectible. You can Google/search for more info regarding the process, etc… in essence, this is a real photograph., and not ‘printed’ . The tape that u see on the back is not touching the postcard, but the paper in back of postcard.

NOTE: the postcard itself has been glued/ attached to the dark paper, also, the card itself has some dark marks on the rear, near the postage stamp area. I would advise to just keep it in its current housing. Frame has 2 eyebolts in back w/ heavy gauge wiring to assist in displaying. A wicked cool & mega-awesome addition to a collectors Indian Motocycles/ postcard collection for sure!
